Why do people lie?  No, better question: Why do people lie so badly? Throughout the few years of my adulthood, I’ve experienced and heard about some of the most outrageous lies, fairy tales and fallacies known to man. Usually these deceptions are more prevalent in the love department.  Sure, we all lie. I’ve lied, you’ve lied, we have all lied.  But one thing I won’t do is insult your intelligence or my own.  Exhibit A below:

Above is guy who is now known in my book for consistently spitting that loose rap; let’s call him A$op Fables.  To give you a little back story. A$op likes to ask me out on dates just to cancel — it has become quite the dance between us. “Yo, when you gonna let me take you out?”  to which I reply  “Let’s hang next weekend,” to which A$op replies “Uhh, I’ll get back to you.” What is the point?   I’m not one to chase anyone, especially guys so I never take this kid seriously anyway. So even when he asks me out just to flake, I smile and say “sure” and then make plans with my friends for pseudo date night.  Anyway, this time around I did the unthinkable: I reached out to A$op just a few days before our date. I wanted to see this lie in progress.  Lo and behold, just as expected, no response. I knew immediately he was in the midst of plotting a ridiculous lie — don’t reply, flake on date, and blame it on a lost phone a week later. Obviously I was correct.
