I Hate the Library
Day 2 of 31
Blogging everyday in May, day 2! Currently, working from the worst place to get work done — the library. I always typically work from home but as of late I’ve decided to switch up the scenery. So I thought to myself, “hmm, where’s a good, quiet location that will allow me to get work done without feeling obligated to purchase anything (coffee, snacks, etc.)? THE LIBRARY!” Before now, the last time I worked out of a library was back in college. I remember uptight librarians and the peaceful sound of nothingness.

Something changed between 2010 and 2016. The library is NOT a peaceful place. Last week in the library, a homeless man kept circling my table, loudly shuffling the books on the shelf behind me whenever he made the pitstop — for like 20 minutes. Today, is just one big steamy pot of annoyance. First we have the man who has a loud conversation with the librarians at the front desk. Followed by the guy who takes intense phone calls in the “Quiet Zone” (ironically, the section I am in). Then, three teens come in and, you know, teenage. Right now, I have a woman who keeps asking me to watch her possessions as she leaves the library for 30 minutes at a time. I’m about to leave, so I really don’t know who will watch her laptop.
Check back in tomorrow for another random blog.
